Peekskill Robin's Report, July 23, 2009
The Peekskill Robins split a doubleheader with the Quakertown Blazers on Wednesday Evening, losing the opener 8-2 and then coming back in the 2nd game with a 8-5 Comeback Victory to keep their 2009 Playoff Hopes alive. In the 1st game the Blazers scored 6 runs in the top of the 6th Inning to put the game away for good. Jim Dimon of the Robins pitched well going into the inning but 2 walks and an error, did the damage. Mike Imbriale had 3 hits for Peekskill including 2 doubles, Quentin Luquette also had 3 hits and 2 doubles, and Zack Small had 2 hits including a Solo Home Run in this game. In the Second Game, Imbriale continued his Hot Pace with with 3 more hits and 2 runs scored. Luquette had a key rbi single and also scored 2 runs, Chris Juarez and Steve Vitale had key rbi doubles and Tom Luciano had a key single and scored 2 runs. Rye Phillips, who relieved Steven Arroyo- Falcone with 2 outs in the 5th inning, pitched 2.1 Scoreless Innings to pick up his 1st win of the season. Peekskill will resume action at home on Friday with a doubleheader with the New Jersey Pilots beginning at 12pm. On Monday, they will also be at home for a twinbill vs the Lehigh Valley Catz, also beginning at 12pm.
